KERIS JAVA

Keris is a genuine culture of Indonesia. Although the ancestors of Indonesia are generally Hindus and Buddhists, have never found evidence that the culture of the keris originated in India or other countries. If the temples on the island of Java found relief (relief) which describes the dagger-shaped weapon, then at temples in India or another country that never existed. Keris as a cultural heritage of native Indonesia is now increasingly forgotten by the people of Indonesia, so that the keris makers including its sheath (place / container) has been increasingly scarce alone.
Nowadays a lot to make dagger is not a master craftsman (= keris maker) and its sheath maker. Craftsmen make kris just for decoration only with the manufacture of the perfunctory.
Yet another dagger and sheath makers to Tosan Aji, which is believed to have magical power, spirit / soul or the aurora itself and bring influence to its owner. Keris as tosan aji made from carefully selected ingredients, such as meteorites, ancient armor, etc., while for warangkanya made of sandalwood, ivory, elephant teeth, etc..

Because the base material is a choice that is causing its own power. There is now increasingly rare people who make the kris as tosan aji, and this is the original cultural heritage of Indonesia which has received recognition from the international community.
Even the weapons berpamor, never in the history of Indian national culture. The weapons are similar to the dagger had never existed in the country. Some of the book written by a Westerner to mention that in Persia (now Iran) had also been there berpamor gun culture which is similar to Indonesian kris. Some types of ancient Iranian-made weapons are decorated with a kind of gold painting on the surface of the blade.

Engineering drawings in the bar decoration was done by making a groove scratches, so the blade cuts, and scratches were inserted in the groove metal flakes of gold. So the technique used is an inlay, which according to the terms of Java called sinarasah. But this does not belong sinarasah real prestige. Because fame is the decoration on the blade surface that occur due to the formation of layers of different types of metals, namely iron and titanium. Iron black, titanium silver. Ancient weapons are being Persian (Parsi) was not metal-plated, but merely made of steel.
In Indonesia, the kris is good generally longer than vamous also decorated with gold, silver, jewels and other precious stones. This ornament is made as a tribute to the owner of the keris. Or they can be as a gift from the king on the merit of the owner of the keris. Decoration on the keris that has the highest value is given when kris kinatah. The surface of a keris carved or engraved so as to form images arise (relief) and then coated with gold. Sometimes here and there are still coupled with decorative jewels. If kinatah it closes one-third or more blades, called kinatah kamarugan. This type of motif kinatah manifold(tunjungbagus.blogspot.com).Thank you for visiting blog Unique Indonesia...^_^
